: ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW I CAN LOCATE AN EXISTING SEWER LINE(MAIN FROM THE STREET)ON PROPERTY THAT HAD A HOUSE DEMOLISHED APPROX. 20 YRS. AGO.I LOCATED THE WATER LINE FROM THE METER BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE SEWER LINE. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
You could call the City or whatever agency owns the mainline at the street. Talk to the sewer superintendent or other public works official with information on the sewers. They may use a demolition permit system when a building is torn down and this permit may contain your location/depth etc. If not, ask if the original mainline blueprints are available that will show the location where the mainline connection was installed. (I responded to your post earlier but it seems to be missing).
