It depends on your plumbing code. Often cleanouts are required on any branch that is more than 5 feet from the main line. But the other question is whether you want to disconnect the trap to clean the drain if it becomes plugged, given the close quarters in most pedestal drain connections.
: Installing new DWV is it required to have a cleanout on a bathroom sink. I have one sink that has the drain pipe exposed in the basement and another where the pipes will be covered in the floor.They are both pedestal sinks, so if I had to put in cleanouts there would be one coming out of the wall,
