|In response to Re: Rheem Water Heater Problem|
: : I have a 3 yr. old Rheem Water Heater and it recently is putting out a white lime-like substance through the service pipes. This substance plugs up the kitchen faucet (Moen) to the point were water hardly comes out. I had a plumber take the faucet apart and it was totally plugged with this white substance. There is no problem with the cold water side of the system. What & where is this white substance coming from??
: Sounds like a bad dip tube, search this site for more info, I think the dip tube thingee is plastic and it falls apart causing the flakes etc to circulate and clog up everything
:I have had the same problem, and got info from the water company that it is a systemic problem with some mfrs water heaters. I have not been abel to get in touch with Rheem yet - the local numbers on the installer's p/w have been disconnected.
