may not be properly vented : My kitchen sink drain gurgles once the water has run through it. I have a double sink and the pipes underneath are relatively new (read put in just before we bought the house). The drain pipes from both sinks meet in the middle to a single trap. After running water in either sink, after you turn it off, within 10 seconds you hear glug-glug-glug.
