Cast iron pipe failure - is this normal ?

I have a remodel project going and am copper repiping in the future months.

However, I have suddenly had 3 failures of the old (1977 era) cast iron pipe within 3 days. Is this how it normally happens - multiple failures in a short time ? I am wondering because I wasn't planning
to start the repipe yet and I wonder if it's not worth fixing any more breaks in the cast iron - seems like another will just form.
