: I live in a co-op and the bathroom above mine is being renovated. Apparently during the process of installing a new toilet upstairs the seal on the lead pan (?) was broken. I had a flood in my bathroom. I was told that the water involved was "clean", but how can that be if it was in the toilet waste-water drain pipe???

: I'd appreciate any comments, this is driving me crazy! I'd love to know if I have a reason to be concerned or if I'm just being neurotic...

If you had a flood, that would be quite a bit of water. Most of the time, when there is a lot of water, it's from the water supply side, something like a bad fitting to the water inlet. If thats the case, it would be clean. Even if it's not, it will bio-degrade. I have been working around the stuff for years, and you would have a hard time finding anyone in better health.
