I installed a 3 piece fiberglass surround in my rental unit 15 years ago and it looks great still. I cut out for the window and trimmed it in oak then polyurethaned and caulked. The oak had to be replaced once about a year ago. The window in the tub area is a pain and if I were to do it again I would eliminate it and put in a fan or smaller window above the shower wall area. Good luck : I just bought a house and want to replace a new tub. The only problem is that there is a window in the shower area. I was wondering instead of tiling if it's possible to use a surround and cut out the window? Then tile by the window sill? I am looking for suggestions. This is in my rental unit so I'm not looking to spend an excessive amount of money but I want it to be nice for my tenants. I appreciate any help.
