I'm remodeling a brew pub. In the kitchen a large floor drain was not working properly. Upon breaking out the concrete and excavating around the 3 inch cast iron drainage pipe we have discovered the cast iron metal elbow was completly disintagrated, and the rest of the cast iron pipe is brittle. A moderate strike with a regular hammer causes the pipe to break. We're about 3 feet below ground level. How can I repair this without using cast iron parts? Sheezzzz, this is hard work! I'm sore as heck from the jack hammer. HELP!!! Thanks, David |
