rattle in pipes

Just recently my pipes started to rattle very loudly every time I flush my toilet. For a while, if the shower was on, the pipes would not rattle, but recently, I flushed the toilet with the shower on, and the pipes rattled after the shower water was turned off (about 10 minutes later). Are there any suggestions as to what I can look at? I am very plumbing illiterate, so please put it in the simplest of terms.
