Just in the last few days, I noticed that our water pressure drops rapidly after the well pump cycles. For example, we used to be able to run the washing machine, use the kitchen sink, and even flush the toilet at the same time, and there was a minor drop in pressure. However, now when we are doing laundry and try to use even just the kitchen sink, we get a very light stream of water, even with the hot and cold valves turned all the way on. This started suddenly. There are no signs of leaks anywhere, and aside from the obvious pressure drop, the pump seems to still cycle as much as it always did, just the variation in pressure seems much greater than usual. The pressure tank is at about 40 psi after a pump cycle. Could my pressure tank be going bad (Well-x-trol model)? How long are these things supposed to last - mine's 27 years old). Any clues?
