RE: Tilted Wye...

The drain in my basement floor runs to a wye which is tilted, the right side leads to an old crok looking thing and it has a gutter sticking into it, which is disconnected at the outside ground level. The other bend heads out and is apparently holding water. The plumber could not get the camera to turn this direction to see what the problem is, also it is questionable if the snake heads there either. How can I determine where in the floor this wye is? The plan is to bust it out and eliminate. The plumber guy quoted me 1500 to tear out all the pipe and replace in what he said would be a 1 day job. Wouldn't it be better to just fix the wye and run a snake definately into the right direction? House is 1890's.
