For units above the main it goes on the supply side. For units below the main you need both supply and return tees. : I have a single zone hydronic system with a 1 and 1/4 main loop. Each heater unit is installed off this loop, and I want to add two more baseboard units. I believe I used a scoop T when I last did this about ten years ago, but now I am getting differing advice about where it is installed. One source says it should be on the supply side of the new baseboard unit; another says on the return, and another says on both. What's the right way to do it. My main line is at the level of the basement ceiling. I am feeding one unit at floor level just above, and another unit along the basement floor.
