Type M is a very thin tubing, and I have never seen any "M" soft tubing. The suggestion is to be sure the tubing size is adequate for the size water heater and also check to see if copper tubing is allowed in your area. Propane is a much more dangerous material than natural gas, so you do not want to make an improper installation. Otherwise, you may make the 5:00 news.
: We are installing two new water heaters upstairs in our home. What grade of 1/2" soft coil copper should be used - M or L. Any suggestions before we run the new line to the new water heaters?
