My husband and I are considering purchasing a beautiful old home that has been standing vacant for at least 7 years. The outside is beautiful, but the inside is gutted. The walls have been stripped down to their cedar panels. The hardwood floors appear to be intact. The bathrooms appear to be from the 1940's. The kitchen appears to be in the same time warp.
The question/question: Our expertise is not in repairing homes. Our first step is to have reputable contractors give us estimates. Today, I am meeting a plumber. Your advice has been helpful. I am sure that I will have specific questions as we go. I will definately keep in touch. If you have any suggestions at this stage in our research we'd welcome your comments.
