Small Leak

I am installing a pedestal sink. I am using hard piping (pardon me if I don't use the correct lingo), 3/8" from the shutoff to the faucet.

I am using the type of supply line that is chromed copper, with a "ball" on the faucet end, and using a brass nut to attach it to the faucet inlet.
I am using teflon tape on the threads. The problem is both hot and cold leak just a bit from the top of the nut that connects the supply to the inlet,

I have followed the included directions, what the heck am I doing wrong?!
