installing a bath in unfinished basement

I am contemplating installing a bath in my basement. the problem is there is no roughed in drains. If I cut up the concrete to lay the drains I am afraid that water will start to seep into my basement where I cut through the concrete. Is there any other way? Or am I just being paranoid.

Any comments would be appreciated.
