|In response to Re: water heater economy|
: My housemate insists on turning off the (gas fired) water heater at night, claiming it saves "a lot" of money. My belief is that there is little or no saving as it burns for a long time in the morning to bring the water temperature up from a cold start.
: What's the reality??
A standard gas water heater uses between $148-$168 per year. That's about $13 per month, $.43 cents per day. I don't think there is much of a savings turning it down at night. Terry
