Your city building department will have the brochures regarding ADA requirements. They are not just applicable to public sites, but are suitable for private residences also.
: I am looking for help in adding a bathroom to our house, by turning an existing bedroom into a bathroom for a handicap person. I'm interesting in what is nesessary and safety and comfort features. There are suppose to be some OSHA guidelines and requirements, probably mainly ment for institutions, such as hospitals, but had thought even that might help. I am looking for proper placement of fixtures and size, as well as safety bars, etc. I woud appreciate any assistance/ suggestions you would have. We will be adding a new master bedroom to the house, that will be adjacent to the bath.
: Thank you, Betty
