Hi Curt, : I am extremely cramped for space in a small house and am looking into tankless hot water options. My : best bet for squeezing a stacked washer/dryer into my house is where the existing hot water tank is, but : then the hot water has to move. Tankless seems perfect as the house is very small and I live alone, but : I've yet to find anyone with much experience with these things. I know these are popular in Europe, why : not here? Don't know if it matters, but I'll need a gas unit. : I'd also be interested in hearing any ideas about alternative hot water tank configurations/placements : (i.e., such as a crawlspace). Thanks! I have installed three of these. All working well. Note that you have to supply combustion air to the unit. Initial cost puts a lot of folks off, but long-term are the way to go. For tank-type water heaters there are some fairly short low-boys that could go in a fairly short crawlspace if it is dry and you can dig a bit of a pit to set it in. Good health, Weogo
