|In response to Re: Old Pipes in Basement|
: I am rennovating my basement bathroom, and am no longer in need of the old drain pipes from the old tub. These (the drain and the vent) are set in the concrete floor. I want to cap them and forget them. Should I clear the P trap of water or let the existing water remain for all eternity? Nothing else uses this drain or vent. Partition walls are being built right on top of these pipes.
Just cut the lines and cap them off. The water will evaporate eventually. Dale's Plumbing Service Inc LMP
