: I am remodeling the bathroom this topic concerns my toilet, and have found soft 4" lead that feeds into cast iron. I cut the lead so it is even \ : and would like to extend 4" pvc pipe from the lead to sufficient length to put a toilet flange on the pvc. My : question is how do you conect the pvc and the lead. The lead is so soft that it does not seem feasible : to put a clamp around them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. : Mark Mark, Go to a plumbing supply and ask for a 4"S&D x 4pvc adapter. Then use a round tool (an 1/1/4 dowel works fine). take a hammer and put the dowel into the lead and tap it easily all the way around it so the S&D part fits INSIDE of the lead. Then use a no hub clamp to tighten. Hope this helps. Dale's Plumbing Service LMP |
