The discriptions I've seen of installing an external cleanout for a house seem easy enough to accomplish myself. I've had an estimate of ~$900 to do this installation from a plumber for a house built in 1980 that has "plastic" pipe.
Is there a description of the installation process or a write-up for the do-it-yourselfer that will discuss best practices for the job? I'm quite good at projects, especially if I can do the work for a fraction of the cost.
