The weight of the tub is not a consideration, but a plastic one will almost always weigh less than a cast-iron one. The bigger factor is how much water will you put in it, and how many people. Larger tubs are almost always filled to the brim with water, and a six foot tub, depending on its configuration can be a multiperson unit. : Can anyone tell me how much a full cast-iron tub weighs, on average? I think it was a standard-size tub, 5 feet in length. We're replacing it with a 6-foot Scala Oval (which won't be cast iron) and I'd kinda like to know if the weight will be much more than the old tub. : I fear I will find myself and the tub in the downstairs dining room one day. Should I worry?
