|In response to Re: Water Softener Discharge|
The discharge is under pressure and can be piped as needed to a drain. The degree of softness is unchangable in all softeners. The demand units have to know the original hardness in order to adjust the gallonage before the mineral bed loses its effectiveness, but it is not adjusting the softness.
: Two Questioms:
: (1) How does the renegeration water exit from a water softener -- by gravity flow over a downward pitch or is it pumped so that it can flow upward to a drain line?
: (2) Can the degree of softness be regulated in a regeneration on demand unit?
: Thanks in Advance
