|In response to Re: Vent for exhaust fan|
More to the point, since the dryer has a much more powerful blower, it will blow lint and humidity into the bathroom.
: : I am finishing my basement bath. Near where I will be installing the exhaust fan is the vent from the upstairs dryer. This dryer vent has a nice lead between the floor joist and out the back of the house. Can I tap my exhaust fan vent into this dryer vent with some type of "Y" connection? It would be so convenient as it will eliminate me having to drill through several joists and make another run of vent pipe to the back of the house. The chances of me drying clothes while the basement exhaust fan is running are very slim. Can I get away with this?
: Rob, The exuast fan collects moisture,The dryer collects lint, The exaust fan would blow back into the dryer and outside. I think this is a bad move. Dale's Plumbing Service Inc LMP
