: I have a shower in a cottage that was built in 1965 that recently became very clogged ( although ,the sink and toilet that are connected furthur down the system work fine), I tried to snake it, but no one can get the snake to make what seems like a 90 degree turn, so I poured some supposedly safe for septic system chemical opener down said drain only to have it bubble and foam up like some highschool chemistry experiment gone awry, and now the drain will not drain AT ALL; have I created a new polymer in my drain? What do I do and how did I get here?
June, you may have to rent a small electric drain cleaning machine. You may have some bad old rusted cast iron pipe here. Good luck on this one. Dale's Plumbing Service LMP
