: : I have a gas water heater about 5 years old and weve been having dificulty keeping the pilot lit. A few months ago I thought that t had just blown out. I relit it and it seamed to work fine. This week it it went out again and we cant seem to : : get it to stay lit. What are the possible causes. Are the problems that a novis can fix? How can I teel if the pilot tip is dirty or clogged. : : Thanks : : Greg : Greg, change the thermo coulpling and clean the pilot tube while your at it. Dale's Plumbing Service LMP make sure you check for gas leaks when your done,,you can get a leak detection solution at ace hardare or use a soap solution you will see bubbles if you have a leak be carefull and good luck
