: I have a home with half iron pipe and half copper (due to a remodel before I got it). the iron pipe is in an attic area and has a pin hole leak (I patched it). I've heard that you can re-line pipe. what's involved in that process and is it cheaper than tearing out the old galv pipe and installing new copper? the water is usually very rusty when I first open a valve in the morning. Any information would be greatly appriciated. thank you. alex, Don'e hesitate a min, Just tear it out. Do plumbers use the pex water piping in your area. It is the going thing now.
