Either you have to completly empty the expansion tank of water, so it fills with air, or if it is a bladder type, (assuming water does not come out of the air valve), then you have to inject air into it. : Terry, : I have a gas boiler that I just replaced the watts regulator (water feed) valve. The boiler works fine but it always reaches the red zone when the pump fires and causes the pressure relief valve to open. I bleed the expansion tank and the baseboards (only water is released, no air is left)to no avail. I am at wits end, any suggestions?? : Fred
