: I have a china teapot from which the bottom broke off and detached. I repaired the china with LePage's China Weld, which resored its appearance, but the teapot leaked a bit where the China Weld did not completely seal the crack. : I put a bead of plumber's putty around the bottom of the pot on the inside, and that has stopped the leak and the teapot looks and works as good as new. : The question is, Is the plumber's putty toxic, and is it safe to make tea in the teapot and drink the tea? : Bill Walker Bill, go to the store and ask for an msds sheet for this putty. By law i think they need to furnish this info. But between you and i, well I'll pass on the tea.Dale's Plumbing Service LMP |
