: I really like hot water heat. However, the wall space taken up by the baseboard unit is unacceptable. Now that I'm remodling, I have the opportunity to do something about it. My problem is, I don't know what options are available. I would assume some brilliant soul has invented an in-floor unit to replace the conventional fixture, but I can't find it. Anybody have any clues?

Do a search on: radiant floor heating

If you have access to your floor joists you may be able to install here.
Or tearup/otherwise replace your floors and mount the tubing on top of your subfloor, with new flooring on top.
