I'm converting from electric to LPG dryer. The only existing ventilation is the air/lint vent that runs up an interior wall through the roof. I have two questions. First, reading Peter Hemp's book, I'm confused why my air/lint vent runs vertically upward, when he recommends as steeply downward as possible. Second, I can find no reference to an independent vent for combustion exhaust, implying they use the same. I don't have a gas dryer to look at to confirm, but that seems very hazardous should the lint catch fire or cause a blockage (especially if it can't drop out of a vertical run). Comments? Thanks.
