Lori :----Your technical language is just fine, it leads me to believe that what you now have installed in your toilet tanks the ever popular "Fluid Mister" ball cocks.. They do a good job of filling the tank when needed ( even at three in the morning ) with a loud bang especially if you have some loose piping in you walls , floors or ceilings. It is for this reason that I prefer to stay with OEM ballcocks (like the ones with a ball.)
Maybe you can get the Plumber to come back and install a quiter and gentler ballcock, I think that is a reasonable request....I have had to return many times for the same reason, and that's why I don"t use the ever popular "Fluid Mister" ballcock. Lots of luck with the Plumber.
