|In response to Re: driving new sand point|
: Need to install a new shallow well system. I would appreciate any advice on driving the well point, and recomendations on which pump and tank to buy. The neighbors have similar systems, and believe they are 20 to 25' deep. Does anyone know of a how-to website for shallow wells?

Bob, I have driven a few sand point wells in my time. I use 1/1/4 galvanized pipe cut in 5' sections. To join them use 1/1/4 drive couplings only. Know how deep it is to water. The water table can't be more than 23-25 ft for a shallow well. I always try to go 20' beyond this point. As you drive your well use a 2' pipe wrench and turn the pipe every so often to keep the point clean. Use a 1/2 hr shallow well pump and a 40gal bladder type tank.110 or 220v. I Hope this helps.
