House appox 60 years old , cast iron drains.
Every year the sewer line that goes out to the city sewer line clogs with tree roots.
(The sewer drain is cast iron, until it goes through the foundation, after that it is clay. Tree roots are growing into pipe at seam/ connection I assume.)
My question is this: After the line is cleared out of all root material, is there any type of "LINER" OR "INSERT" that can be put into drain line to "seal off" the tree roots from there source of water and food. (Human waste, food for the tree.)
I know there must be something like that, I've seen telephone / power trucks carrying big spools of something like I 'm thinking of.
