Kitchen sink clogged

I have a double sink in the kitchen with a disposal on one side and a regular sink on the other. While throwing out leftovers, the sink clogged and the diposal side is backing up into the non-disposal side. The disposal itself is working. How do I unclog the sink? HELP!!!!
