I am going to be replacing the tub in my bathroom and am wondering about the drain hookup. Because I am switching the drain location the new tub drain will be will be a little more than 5 feet away from the old tubs drain/vent. I understand I need to go to 3 inch pipe if the distance is over 5 feet but the existing drain/vent is only 2 inch pipe. Does the 3 inch requirement also mean I would need to replace the drain/vent with 3 inch pipe?
