|In response to Re: Is is possible to replace stem in sillcock?|
The stem and/or body threads are stripped. Unless you can find an exact replacement to exchange parts, the whole unit will have to be replaced.
: When I recently turned on the water from my outdoor faucet, I could not turn the water off because the handle kept turning without stopping. I used pressure by pushing on the handle and turning and the water did stop. I checked the handle to see if it was stripped but it appeared Okay. I noticed that the stem moved in and out and screwed the handle screw in and turned the screw with a set of pliers and noticed the stem turned without stopping. Can I remove the stem and replace it or do I need to replace the entire sillcock.
