I have a 40 year old split-level house in Toronto, Canada with 1/2 inch copper supply piping to all the faucets. We are planning a major bathroom upgrade and I thought I would take this opportunity to replace the hot and cold piping. Since we moved into the house 3 years ago, we have noticed the pressure is too weak and the hot water doesn't last too long, especially upstairs. My questions are: - Should I use 1 inch or 3/4 inch copper pipes for the trunk line from the water meter. - Is it OK to leave the existing piping from the trunk line that currently feed the faucets?
