: Terry,
: I'm putting in a shower stall in a remodeled bathroom I would like to know where to put the next stud in reference to the mixer. Any advice would be appreciated.

Rick,
My preference for shower valves is to have the studs spaced on both sides of the valve, about 12" on center.
The shower head would attach to a drop ear 90 el fitting attached to a 2x4 screwed or nailed between the two studs on center. ( 76" high ) I would locate the next 2x4 backing near the valve and secure with plastic pipe straps. The water pipes do a fine job securing the valve in place.
Regards,
Terry
