: Recently purchased a 21 yr. old home. It has well water with a pH of 7.89. Hardness??? I've had to remove scale (green solids) from the shower faucet in the basement. There is currently no softener being used. Is this same scale going to eventually clog my boiler/burner (replaced 8yrs ago - currently in good shape I've had it tuned up) or the copper piping used in the two zone baseboard hot water heat? My domestic hot water is also heated obviously through the boiler.

: Any comments will be appreciated.

: Thanks,
: Dave
