In response to Re: Wax ring installation / leak

: I had the wax ring replaced on my toilet. A new wax ring was placed on the flange (floor) and the toilet was seated on top of it and pressed down. In the process of tightening the bolts, the toilet had to be lifted off again (because one of the bolts was slipping down) and then the toilet was placed back down on the flange without replacing the wax ring anew. The toilet is again leaking from the bottom. (the repair was done three days ago). My question is: did the seal get broken when the toilet was lifted off during the repair? Should a new wax ring have been put down the second time, or should the first one still be ok?
: Thanks for your help.

CB,
Most of the time, you will need two wax rings. I always carry plenty of rings. The toilet when set, should compress the wax about at least a 1/2". If not, more wax is needed. Wax is cheaper than a new floor. Terry
