I needed to turn a cast iron tee (3") over 135 degrees to accomodate the new toilet location. Due to the tight clearance under the house, it was not possible to dig out the lead from the hub. So... I heated the joint and with some pressure it turned. Now, how to I make sure it doesn't leak?
I haven't been able to find a pair of caulking irons and there is only 2" between the hub and subfloor so I doubt I could pound more lead (or lead wool) into the hub. A local shop recommended something called Swan's Soil Seal. I think it's a plastic sealant.
FYI. If your connecting ABS to cast iron, you can find 'donuts' at http://www.fernco.com . These fit around the new pipe and are tapped into the hub.
