I'm in the process of selling my 7 year old house in San Diego CA. As part of the selling process a home inspector has reviewed my house for problems. One thing he noted was that my water pressure is too high (120psi). I was told it should be around 80psi. I located the water pressure regulator, attached a pressure gauge to a hose bib for the clothes washer and began to adjusted the regulator. Not knowing which way to adjusted, I started by turning the adjuster in or "tightening the bolt". This didn't change the pressure at all. My question is do you turn in or out to drop the pressure? Do regulators need to be replaced after 7 years? What is the procedure for adjusting water pressure? Thank you in advance for you help. Alan Bretschneider |
