Mark: Whirlpool and Sears refrigerators are well known for the chirping that sometimes develops. The small fan that ciculates air from the freezer compartment to the refrigerator section is the villain. Only sure cure is to replace it, but is an easy fix.
On the other hand, your son may have the right idea....hmmmmm an owl...well it could be y'know.
