Standing Tile Shower Pan Replacement

I have a standing tile shower that my husband and I are trying to replace ourselves. We have torn out
the old shower tiles and pan. It has a steel drain that we don't know how to take out. Can someone tell
me how to remove it and form a new shower pan? Also do I have to install the green rock and wonder
board before installing the pan? Thank you.
