The Consumers Report of Feb/95 listed the Toto toilet, CST704. They gave it a good rating for flushing and down graded somewhat for washing of the bowl. Some of the toilets that washed the bowl well, performed less well at flushing. Consumer Digest, in the Summer 97 edition gave the Toto 854 a very good rating.
Plumbers like the Toto line because of the quick flushing action.
