You have to complete the tub deck first, including tile & grout and then "drop" the tub in the finished opening. You should get a template along with the tub, the shipping box may have the template printed on it. I would try a "dry" fit after the deck is frame and sheathed but before it's tiled. There is no way you want to try and do this work with tub in the room.
