Adam,

As hj stated insulation is not the answer, Amtrol boiler mates are very well insulated internally from the factory. I was told if you don't use any hot water they only lose 2 degrees in a 24 hour period. The heat is coming from the boiler. You could try double walled insulated pipe for the exhaust but even that won't help much given the low stack temps of the "newer" boilers. One remedy may be to put a louvered or vented door on the closet and use the radiant boiler heat to warm the adjoining room in the cold months and install an exhaust fan high in the closet to the outside for use during the summer.
