: terry,

: i am remodeling a kitchen that never had a dishwasher and one will be installed. so i need to run supply and waste lines.
: what size should the hot water supply line be?
: what type of fitting should be on the end of the supply line?
: where should it be located, front or back?
: what about a waste line? doesn't it just drain into the garbage disposal?
: thanks for you

The answers to your questions will depend upon the model DW you'll be installing. Check the installation instructions for line sizes and fittings. The instructions will also give you instructions on routing. The framework on the DW will limit where the lines can enter and leave, so study these closely. When I did this, that is, install a DW where none had been before, I made the space exactly 24 inches, the standard DW width. I wished afterward that I had made it an eighth of an inch wider. It's a tight fit.
